SAC to Punggol Waterway cum Waterway Point

Date: Sunday, 13 Mar’22 at 8.30am to 11am.

Meeting Place/Time:  Punggol MRT / Waterway Point entrance at 8.30am.  Note group will commence walk at 8.45am.

 

Highlights 

Punggol Waterway Park is a 12.25 hectares riverine park opened in 2011. The waterway is Singapore’s longest man-made waterway that runs through the park.  The park provides residents opportunities for activities such jogging and cycling along the promenade at both sides of the waterway. There are 4 theme areas, namely, Nature Cove, Recreation Zone, Heritage Trail and Green Gallery, each offers special features of the park. Beside walking along the promenade, group will cover the Heritage Trail which brings back nostalgic memories of old Punggol kampong. Next group will cover ‘Kelong Bridge’ and understand many plants, shrubs and trees along the waterway, before proceeding to Waterway Point.

Fee:  Free for SAC members, non-members $5

What to bring/wear: Raincoat, insect repellent, drink and snacks. Wear light and use covered walking shoes.
